Abstract

Secondary title: Tools for online and mobile stores design comparison
Secondary abstract: Small businesses face staffing problems, limited finance resources, and a lack of technical knowledge, limiting their capacity to design online and mobile stores. In this thesis, we examined several tools with which you can create simple, high-quality online and mobile stores. We focused in examining if these tools can meet the requirements and expectations of small businesses. This would provide them a complete control over their online sales without the need to address special technical features. A key factor, together with all the comparison tools, is the possibility of executing mobile sales, which an online platform can achieve in several ways. Based on the literature review, we developed a holistic set of criteria focusing on the requirements of small business for tools to building online and mobile stores. These criteria cover the main issues of small businesses, which in terms of capital value cannot face costs that are negligible for large companies and multinationals. Tools invoked in the research are available either for free or for a fee, which is usually lower than the usual cost of custom software development. Each of the considered tools was descriptively analysed and evaluated according to the latest assessment, based on the authors expertise, as well as according to user experience feedback, which we found in various sources. We then compared the tools according to the small business criteria set and ranged online and mobile store tools for a small business. With the help of this work, we will provide support to small companies in taking a decision to design online and mobile stores and to decide, which of the comparative tools best suits them based on criteria invoked in the provided comparison analysis.
