Abstract

Secondary title: Evaluation of economics on an organic farm - a case studyd
Secondary abstract: In the diploma thesis, the current state of the organic farm Cenc, which is located in Zg. Laže, municipality of Slovenske Konjice was analysed. Organic farming is a way of farming that takes place in harmony with nature and contributes to the balance between humans and nature. The farm has been in ecological control since 2011 and conducts registered ancillary activity on the farm processing fruit and vegetables. Strawberry are grown on the farm, and from the strawberry surplus strawberry jam is produced. The demand for organic products is growing, so the possibility of expanding vegetable production and processing was also analyzed. The production could be extended to the production of pickles and pickled cucumbers. For the current production calculations of total costs were used, and for the expansion of production, planned calculations of total costs were conducted. The coefficients of economy showed that strawberry production is the most economical (Ke = 2.84), followed by processing into strawberry jam (Ke = 2.03). The analysis of the expansion to cucumber production for investment, shows that cucumber production is economically justified (Ke = 1.23), as well as the processing of pickles, where Ke = 1.29. The results show that complementary activities would improve the economic situation on the farm.
