diplomsko delo univerzitetnega študija
Abstract
V času recesije nam prav gotovo ni tuje soočanje s stresnimi situacijami in njihovim obvladovanjem.
Osrednji del diplomske naloge obsega postavljanje hipotez, oblikovanje vprašalnika, določitev vzorcev anketirancev, obdelavo in interpretacijo rezultatov. V zaključku nava¬jamo sklepe, predloge in literaturo.

STRESS AT JOURNALIST'S WORK |
Secondary abstract: |
In this time of recession it is not unusual to find yourself in a stressful situation and having to deal with it. It is highly desirable to have a job nowadays but it is the job itself that can cause various problems. Every occupation knows potential stress factors but this thesis focuses on the work process of journalists. This thesis contains basic meanings of stress, reasons for stress and its consequences, and methods of coping with stress.
The main theme of the thesis is journalism, considered to be one of the most stressful occupations by many. We focused exclusively on journalists of the Slovenian public broadcaster, RTV Slovenija. This should give us a good idea about the inner workings of the organisation. Theoretical component of the thesis was also put into practice as we adapted a quantitative analysis in the form of a questionary.
The introduction contains a brief presentation of the activities, programme output, size and level of the organisation in RTV Slovenija. The next part of the thesis contains descriptions of the meaning of stress, as well as its factors and consequences. We focused on positive and negative stress and methods of coping with stress on a personal level and the level of organisation. We continue with the analysis of stress journalists are subjected to, main stress factors and methods of dealing with stress in their line of work. Central piece of the thesis contains hypothesis making, forming a questionary, defining the survey samples, analysis and interpretation of the results. The final part of the thesis contains conclusions, suggestions and list of literature.
Final results of the research show that a considerable stress potential can be derived from bad interpersonal relations in a workplace and a consequentially worsened atmosphere. Most common stress factors include physical factors, working hours organization, being at constant disposal, job security and promotion possibility. Subjects mostly fight stress by keeping company with friends, by resting or engaging in sports or reading. Worst signs of stress can be seen as extreme fatigue, exhaustion and tendency to conflict.
The management must take employee suggestions into consideration and at the same time provide positive changes the employees can agree to and identify with. Only in this jointly manner can the conditions and interpersonal relations that could lead to stress among journalists be avoided. Improvements in working atmosphere, better occupation organization, better planning, timely decision making and clear communication can greatly reduce the risk of stressful situations. |
