magistrsko delo
Abstract

The Role of Kindergarten Professionals in the Inclusion of Children with Special Needs |
Secondary abstract: |
The number of children with special needs in regular kindergartens has recently been increasing. In the master's thesis, we have focused on the concept of inclusion, integration, social acceptance, providing assistance to the weak, cooperation with various professionals and the parents. 148 professional workers of kindergartens (kindergarten teachers, teachers - kindergarten teacher assistants) have been included in the research and the data have been collected using anonymous questionnaires. With the research, we have found out that professionals acquire the most new knowledge about children with special needs from professional books and articles, and lectures organized by kindergartens. We have also found that kindergartens tend to provide their employees with lectures on the topic of children with special needs. Most professionals are involved in the preparation of individualized programs for children with special needs. However, the kindergarten teachers are more involved in the preparation of an individualized program than kindergarten teacher assistants. Most professionals are also aware of the adjustments needed for working with children with special needs and do take them into consideration in pedagogic process. Nevertheless, kindergarten professionals are less familiar with legislation related to children with special needs. In practice, they work well with kindergarten counsellors and external experts. Parents of children with special needs are regularly reported about their child's progress by professionals and they strive to adapt their physical and didactic environment to work with children with special needs. |
