Abstract

V okviru raziskovalnega dela smo izvedli raziskavo v obliki anketnega vprašalnika in ugotovili demografske podatke, poznavanje jetrne ciroze in njenih posledic ter pivske navade anketirancev.

Secondary title: Alcohol and liver cirrhosis
Secondary abstract: Theoretical part of my thesis presents the risk of the development of liver cirrhosis as described by slovene and other authors, that is the causes and categorization of liver cirrhosis, its clinical picture, its main complications and diagnostics. This is followed by the representing of alcohol dependence syndrome and its physical and psichical consequences. Within frame of the goals that we set in our thesis we have fulfilled our research in a form of questionairre, thus finding out about drinking habits of the respondents, informations about their birth, age, and education. We further learnt about the level of their knowledge about liver cirrhosis and its consequences. The age interval of respondents was between 30 and 60 years. The random sample questionnaire in our survey is constituted by 15 close type questions. The majority of the respondents to the questionnaire, with respect to our survey results, consumes alcohol drinks on regular level (daily or weekly basis), and the majority of them is also aware of the consequences caused by long-term alcohol consumption on liver. Our thesis has confirmed already known facts on the subject, and in the very conclusion we can set a general statement or observation, namely, that alcohol is spread virtually throughout our society. The nurse's role is of high importance when it comes to health education as well as the treatment of liver cirrhosis and alcoholism. She is a health-care carrier and corner stone, she participates also in implementation of diagnostic - therapeutic program, and last but not least she is a motivator and the one who is there for a patient.
