Abstract

Neustrezno razkuženi pripomočki so zlahka vir okužbe.

Secondary title: Reduced sensitivity of bacteria isolated from reusable therapeutic devices against disinfectants
Secondary abstract: In recent years, there has been an increase in the number of health-related infections whose main source is patients and surfaces and various aids. Thus the problem of bacterial resistance to antibiotics and potential resistance to disinfectants, more research is needed to develop appropriate protocols for the use of biocidal products. The purpose of this work was to determine whether there is a reduced susceptibility of bacteria isolated from reusable therapeutic devices against disinfectants. The data were obtained with the help of an experiment conducted in the laboratory. The susceptibility of bacteria to disinfectants was determined experimentally. Susceptibility is quantified by the MIC, which can be defined as the minimum concentration of disinfectant required to prevent culture growth. The bacteria we analyzed did not indicate an increased level of resistance or decreased sensitivity. The concentration inhibiting bacterial growth ranged between 6.25% and 12.5%. Since the disinfectants we tested are used in concentrations in which they are, ie without dilution, we conclude that even lower concentrations are sufficient to inhibit and destroy bacteria. We can conclude that Incidin Liquid requires lower doses of the active ingredient than Sani Cloth.Inadequately disinfected devices are easily a source of infection. Disinfection protocols need to be standardized and bacterial resistance to the agents used should be monitored regularly.
