magistrsko delo
Abstract
Nadalje smo želeli dobiti vpogled v postopek obravnave enojajčnih dvojčkov s strani policistov in njihove izkušnje s tovrstno obravnavo.

Identification of identical twins in police procedures |
Secondary abstract: |
In previous research, we observe that identical twins can be separated in different ways, like via biometric separators, facial recognition, fingerprint and palm matching, voice, font and iris recognition. Identical twins can replace the exploitation of identity in everyday life for their own benefit as well as for the purpose of fraud.
In the master's thesis, we were interested in whether identical twins change their identity in order to gain some benefit. We found that more than half of people notice an identity change between identical twins and that there is no association between the duration of acquaintance of identical twins and the ability to recognize them. However, there is a connection between the age of identical twins and their ability to recognize them. We found that the sex of identical twins is not associated with a change in the identity of identical twins, and that the ability to separate identical twins is associated with the observation of a change in their identity.
Furthermore, we wanted to gain insight into the process of treating identical twins by police officers and their experience with foreign treatment. The Slovenian Police does not keep statistical data that would refer to identical twins as suspects in criminal offenses. In investigating and dealing with crimes, they occasionally meet with individual suspects who are identical twins. Because identical twins have the same DNA profile, which poses problems with biometric identification, unless they also detect fingerprints at the end of the crime. |
