Abstract

IZVLEČEK V diplomskem delu smo predstavili obširno zdravstveno nego pacienta, obolelega z akutno mieloično levkemijo. Diplomsko delo smo razdelili na tri dele. V prvem delu smo podali nekaj splošnih informacij o kostnem mozgu, hematopoezi, nalogah krvi v telesu in njeni sestavi. Opisali smo tudi imunski odziv. Večji poudarek smo naklonili levkocitom, ter opisali različne tipe levkemije, še posebej pa smo poudarili akutno levkemijo oziroma akutno mieloično levkemijo. Bolniki z akutno mieloično levkemijo so zdravljeni s citostatiki, kar smo opisali v drugem delu diplomskega dela. V tretjem delu smo prišli do zdravstvene nege.

Secondary title: Nursing patients with acute myleoid leukemia
Secondary abstract: ABSTRACT In the diploma thesis we have presented an extensive healthcare for patient with an acute myeloid leukemia. Diploma thesis is somehow divided into three parts. In the first part we have described some general characteristics of bone marrow, hematopoiesis, structure of blood and its function in the body. We have also described the immune reaction. Greater emphasis was on leukocytes, by which we have described leukemia, we have especially emphasized the acute leukemia or acute myeloid leukemia. Patients with acute myeloid leukemia are treated with cytostatic drugs which were described in the second part of the diploma thesis. We have also added ways of application of cytostatic drugs into the body and complications that appear in such treatment. Nurse who is working with or is preparing cytostatic drugs needs to have a great deal of knowledge and experience, and many skills. Thus we have also discussed the protection of nurse at the preparation of cytostatic drugs. The treatment of acute leukemia can last from 6 to 8 months, and in most cases a transplant of stem cells is required for patients to achieve remission, which was described in the last chapter of the second part of the diploma thesis. In the third part we have discussed the healthcare. In chapter concerning the healthcare of a patient with acute myeloid leukemia we have described the most frequent unwanted effects of cytostatic drugs, which appear at such treatment, and the role of the nurse. We have also included the role of nurse at the introduction of the central vein catheter and the role of nurse at the puncture of bone marrow which is one of the essential examinations concerning patients with leukemia. In the last chapter of the third part of the diploma thesis we have described the patterns of healthy behavior and presented the most frequent diagnosis according to the Marjory Gordon method.
