Abstract

V diplomski nalogi smo poskušali predstaviti pojem družinskega nasilja, njegove žrtve, pojavne oblike in pravno podlago.

Secondary abstract: Domestic violence is a major problem of modern society, which can be found almost everywhere and can affect any member of the family. Most vulnerable are women, children and the elderly, who are physically weak, and also the number of male victims of violence is increasing. Most of the victims experience psychological, physical, sexual, economic violence and neglect. With increasing cases of domestic violence, it is necessary to provide adequate information for victims and perpetrators also. Non-governmental organizations, social services and police have an important role in informing victims where to seek help. In recent years, much was contributed to the management of domestic violence by non-governmental organizations, which cooperate with the police in education and organizing various campaigns, The purpose of the diploma paper is to present the problem of domestic violence, how it is faced by the police and non-governmental organizations, and the method of their cooperation in coping with domestic violence. Furthermore, we defined the problems they are facing in their work and in what ways they could be disregarded. In the diploma paper we attempted to illustrate the concept of domestic violence, its victims, forms and the legal basis. In addition we described the functions of non-governmental organizations and the police. Our focus for non-governmental organizations was on the Association against Violent Communication and the Association SOS Help Line for Women and Children - Victims of Violence. Correspondingly, was made an interview with the representatives of both associations. Domestic violence will always be present in our society, therefore a further cooperation between governmental and non-governmental institutions is necessary, so they can share their experiences and information, and thus attempt to successfully withstand the form of violence, which is a major problem in today's society.
