Abstract

Uvod: Totalna proteza predstavlja standardno obliko stomatoprotetične oskrbe brezzobega pacienta. Razprava in zaključek: Poleg določanja barve zob in odtenka akrilata, karakterizacija dlesni zahteva tudi pozornost pacientove barve kože, barve ustnic in njegove fizionomije.

Secondary title: Complete denture aesthetics
Secondary abstract: Introduction: Complete denture is a standard care for edentulous pacients. Characterization of dentures includes a series of laboratory procedures, where dental technician can change colors and shape of base material and artificial teeth. Materials, currently used for manufacturing aesthetic dentures, include ceramics, acrylic resign and composites. Purpose: The purpose of this diploma work is to study various possibilities of complete dentures manufacturing, with the emphasis on aesthetics. We studied how different materials and procedures affect the final appearance of complete dentures, what kind of materials and equipment we need, to individualize dentures, the complexity of production and patient satisfaction with the final dentures. Methods: A descriptive work method was used in the theoretical part of the diploma work, with a rewiev of existing proffesional literature. Three pairs of complete dentures were made, using different materials and procedures. Results: Using standard acrylic materials and laboratory equipment to make a complete denture is easy and fast. Using Candulor acrylate to make a characterized denture is not so technically demanding, the use of acrylate is simple and the final appearance of the denture meets the patients aesthetic needs. We used an acrylic base and colored SR Nexco composite to make the third denture. An appropriate laboratory tool is used to match the colors between individual shades, by simply adding and removing the composite mass. Discussion and conclusion: Characterization of dentures requires not only the attention of tooth color and the shade of denture base, but also of the patient's physiognomy and skin and lip color. Dentists and dental technicians are reaching out to various methods and materials to make an individualized denture to satisfy the patients aesthetic needs. The techniques and materials used for characterization, presented in the diploma work are also used in other techniques of making total prostheses.
