Abstract

Mladi vse več in vse mlajši uživajo alkohol. Razprava in sklep.

Secondary title: ALCOHOL CONSUMPTION AMONG SCHOOLCHILDREN IN TRADITIONAL AND WALDORF ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
Secondary abstract: In Slovenia, the consumption of alcohol is among higher ones in Europe. This means not only among the adults but also among the young people. Young people consume more alcohol and they start the consumption younger. Alcohol therefore represents a big problem that ought to be faced already by the pupils of primary schools. People who create themselves positive thinking about alcohol already in their youth, also later consume more alcohol. Research methodology. Research was based on the quantitative methodology. We were collecting data using partly structured questionnaire containing 18 questions of open and closed type. Research was conducted among 97 children of eight and nine classes in the month of September 2011 in the Primary School Kamnica and in Waldorf School Ljubljana. The purpose of this survey was to find out whether there are the differences in alcohol consumption by primary schoolchildren of state primary school and Waldorf primary school. Results. Despite the fact that the majority knows about the harmfulness of drinking alcohol drinks and that they know alcohol is a drug, there are only few of those who have not tried alcohol yet. They try it mainly with the purpose of entertainment, self-demonstration and curiosity. For the first time, most of the primary schoolchildren tried alcohol at home. Between the schools there are no significant differences in alcohol consumption. Discussion and conclusion. Attitude of adolescents to alcohol is too positive and too many times they wish too much to praise themselves and to boast in front of the peers. This is why that they reach for alcohol drinks too often. In order to reduce the adolescent alcohol use it would be necessary to modify their beliefs about alcohol.
