Secondary abstract: | The thesis studied the usefulness of the principles of lean manufacturing in Quality control department. Studied company is a generic firm and if the price of the final product is too high can also mean a loss of profit due to competitors on the market. Quality control is the last activity in the series production of the product and doesn’t give much added-value to the final product. Restrictions on the introduction of lean manufacturing were, with the same number of employees and the same instrument capacity follow the increasing volumes in production and the associated samples for analysis. We found out, that the principles of lean production in Quality control department is a good tool to reduce costs and achieve shorter lead times which are important to meet the requirements of the market. |
