Abstract

V ugotovitvah predstavim navajanja avtorjev in avtoric o oskrbi v instituciji in o oskrbi v domačem okolju.

Secondary title: Institutional care or home care
Secondary abstract: In my master's thesis entitled Institutional care or home care, I analyzed theoretical sources on the chosen topic. I undertook research between institutional care and care in the home environment by presenting both forms of assistance through various works by authors. Social work with the older people is a specialized field of social work and, as such, requires social workers to find possible solutions in response to the plight of the older people. According to the European Commission (2018), Slovenia is facing a demographic decline and an aging population. The Aging Report 2018, published in June 2018, provides projections of the aging Slovenian population in the period between 2016 and 2070, when life expectancy at birth for men is expected to increase by 7.6 years (from 78.2 years in 2016 to 85.8 years in 2070). For women, life expectancy at birth in Slovenia is expected to increase by 6.3 years (from 83.8 years in 2016 to 90.1 years in 2070). In my master's thesis, I reviewed what age is and what aging means, what quality age is and what quality aging is. I described both forms of care for the older people, institutional care and home help services. I described a special form of care for people with dementia, in institutional care and in the home environment. In the findings, I present the authors' statements about care in the institution and care in the home environment. In the conclusions and proposals, I list the proposals for personal care.
