Abstract

Terrorists carry out acts of violence, directed against civilians or civilian institutions for achieving their desired objectives. Objectives can be political or to intimidate the masses, for creating-chaos and with it the collapse of the ruling powers. Drastic changes in Europe in recent years, like the economic crisis, high unemployment and a growing wave of new emigrants to developed countries, are creating a new wave of extreme right-wing groups. This image of Europe is dangerously similar to the previous major economic crisis in the 1920's, when some extreme right-wing political parties took over the power in their countries, leading the world in-to World War Two.
Because of this, the Federal Republic of Germany is giving a lot of attention to the
extreme right-wing groups. However, the authorities have failed to detect a series of terrorist attacks, that took place for over than 10 years, until 2011, over foreign immigrants especially of Turkish origin. The attacks were carried out by three members of the underground right-wing terrorist organization, which was discovered completely by accident. This case has shocked the entire Germany and pointed out a number of irregularities in the functioning of the security authorities.
Despite the fact that Germany is a strong economic power, with one of the lowest unemployment rates, its eastern part has not socially and economically reached the level of the western part, even 20 years after the unification. Therefore, the support for extreme right-wing political parties and other right-wing organizations is big, and with even more immigrants arriving, it is suitable for forming even more right-wing terrorist groups. |
