Secondary abstract: | The paper focuses on the anthology of Slovene poetry Piesne zpod Triglava (Songs Beneath Triglav), subtitled Výber zo súčasnej slovinskej lyriky (Selection from Contemporary Slovene Lyrical Poetry), compiled in 1940 by the Slovak writer and translator Koloman K. Geraldini (1908–1994). It contains poems by twenty-one Slovene poets written between the turn of the century (the beginning of the Slovene Moderna) and the late 1930s. The paper analyses the concept of the anthology, the quality of translations and the critical reception in that era. The anthology was the only representative selection from modern Slovene poetry in Slovakia in the 20th century. |
