Abstract

Spoznali smo veliko število projektov, kot so gradbeni, poslovni, interni, javni, IT projekti itd. V drugem delu smo opredelili pojem projektnega vodenja in predstavili zgodovino projektnega vodenja. Zgodovino projektnega vodenja smo razdelili v štiri faze. Potem smo opredelili metodologije projektnega vodenja in predstavili tri skupine metodologij, in sicer tradicionalno, agilno in hibridno.

Secondary title: Managing IT project with MS Project
Secondary abstract: The topic of the master's thesis is project management. Project management can be defined as the use of knowledge, skills, tools and techniques in project activities to achieve project requirements. Project management is implemented through the use and integration of project management processes for initiation, planning, implementation, monitoring, control and closure. In order to research project management, we must first understand what the concept of project represents. Therefore, we divided the master's thesis into three parts. The first part refers to the project, the second part to project management, and the third part is practical part in which we presented the MS Project tool. So, in the first part we defined the concept of project. We collected definitions of different authors, presented the attributes and life cycle of the project. Project attributes such as start and end date and project goal are those characteristics that make us understand proejcts as we understand them. The life cycle represents the life of the project from the beginning to the very end. Then we presented the types of projects according to different categories such as project objective, complexity, source of capital, etc. We discovered a large number of projects such as construction, business, internal, public, IT projects, etc. We presented how different cultures influence projects, how to start a project, and what the critical success factors are. We have outlined a few steps that need to be taken before we start implementing a project and listed the factors to look out for. In terms of factors, we presented the concept of a project triangle, which is used as a starting point for assessing the success of projects. In the second part, we defined the concept of project management and presented the history of project management. The history of project management was divided into 4 phases. We defined project management methodologies and presented three groups of methodologies, namely: traditional, agile and hybrid methodology. Each of the groups contains a number of different methodologies that have their advantages and disadvantages. Next, we found out what the role of a project manager is and what qualities good managers have. As with any leadership, it is very important that the leaders have good relationships with people, that they understand their needs, and that they communicate with them. We also examined the software used today in project management. We presented various tools, listed their features, advantages and disadvantages. One of the tools we briefly presented is MS Project, which we used in the third part to design and simulate the project. In the third part, we presented the project of implementing a CRM solution through the MS Project tool. We showed the basic features of the project, such as the start and end dates. In the project, we used a calendar that we created for the needs of the project. We also presented the resources that perform certain tasks in the project and we described in detail each phase of the project. We divided the project into 4 phases. Then we showed how we used the resources in the project, which means how many hours each resource works on the project. In the end, we simulated the work on the project and monitored the progress, and based on that we made some reports, which is one of the functionalities of the MS Project tool.
