Abstract

V magistrski nalogi so predstavljeni stiki Janeza Šubica s češko umetnostjo skozi bližino z Vojtěchom Hynaisom od njunega prvega srečanja v Benetkah leta 1874 do odhoda Šubica v Kaiserslautern leta 1884, ko so se njuni stiki končali. Vpogled v njune stike temelji na raziskovanju korespondenc, predvsem družine Šubic in z obravnavanima avtorjema povezanih umetnikov (Janez Wolf, Anselm Feuerbach, Josef Václav Myslbek), ter na študijah starejših raziskovalcev (France Mesesnel in František Žákavec) in na novejših raziskavah (Maruša Gantar in Marie Mžyková). Osrednji del naloge zajema predstavitev delovanja in sorodnosti pristopov obeh slikarjev v Italiji ter opis njunega delovanja v Pragi ob projektu poslikave Narodnega gledališča.

Secondary abstract: The master's thesis examines Janez Šubic and his connections with Czech Art through the collaboration of Janez Šubic and Vojtěch Hynais from their first meeting in Venice in 1874 to Šubic's departure for Kaiserslautern in 1884, when their contacts ended. Insight into their collaboration is based on correspondence research, particularly of the Šubic family and related artists (Janez Wolf, Anselm Feuerbach, Josef Václav Myslbek), as well as the studies of older researchers (France Mesesnel and František Žákavec) and recent research (Maruša Gantar and Marie Mžyková). The central part of the thesis is a presentation of the work and similarities in approaches of both painters in Italy, as well as their work in Prague with the National Theater painting project.
