Abstract

Osebni podatki so del človekove zasebnosti.

Secondary title: Education as an important factor in the protection of personal data in health and social institution
Secondary abstract: Personal data is a part of human privacy. When entering a social health care institution, an individual has to give up this part of his or her privacy. This is why the careful handling and protection of personal data is a central task for all healthcare professionals. To carry out the survey we applied an empirical method of research. The tool used was a questionnaire, which included questions on the theoretical knowledge of the international conventions, laws, regulations and codes, as well as questions on the practice of data protection compliance in the workplace. Healthcare workers have to be aware of the fact that every resident has a right to privacy and secrecy related to their personal data. In order to prevent personal data breaches, all staff in health and social care settings need to be trained to properly handle and successfully protect personal data obtained.
