diplomsko delo univerzitetnega študijskega programa I. stopnje
Abstract
Velika večina proizvedene plastike in polimernih produktov ni biorazgradljiva, kar pripomore k onesnaževanju okolja.
Reakcije smo izvajali v diferenčnem dinamičnem kalorimetru. Sledila je karakterizacija katalizatorja z različnimi karakterizacijskimi metodami (infrardeča spektroskopija s Fourierjevo transformacijo, vrstična elektronska mikroskopija, N2 adsorpcija in določanje velikosti por, diferenčna dinamična kalorimetrija, termogravimetrična analiza, dinamično sipanje svetlobe, kemisorpcija – določanje kislinskih mest). Primerjava poteka reakcije degradacije polietilen tereftalata v primeru uporabe katalizatorja in v primeru višanja temperature kljub temu pokaže večji vpliv temperature.

Catalyzed hydrolysis of polymers |

This paper presents a study related to catalysed hydrolysis of polymers, in which ZSM-5 was synthesised on the basis of mesoporous silica, and used as an acid catalyst. The synthesised catalyst was then used in the degradation of polyethylene terephthalate in an aqueous medium. Polyethylene terephthalate is one of the most widespread polymers and is used as a synthetic material. Most of the produced plastic and polymer products are not biodegradable, which has a significant impact on environmental pollution.
The reactions took place in a differential scanning calorimeter. Further, the catalyst characterisation using different characterisation methods (infrared spectroscopy with Fourier transformation, scanning electron microscopy, N2 adsorption and porosity determination, differential scanning calorimetry, thermogravimetric analysis, dynamic light scattering, chemisorption – acid site determination) was performed. The acquired samples were analysed using high-resolution liquid chromatography. The reaction with a catalyst was more effective at a certain temperature than without it, yet the achieved values were very low. The final conclusion drawn from this study is that synthesised catalyst is not efficient enough to be used in the degradation of polyethylene terephthalate. From the comparison between using the catalyst or increasing the temperature, it can be seen that the temperature change has a bigger impact on the reaction. |
