Abstract

Secondary title: Stress and stress management of employees at a specific company
Secondary abstract: Stress is a challenge we face in our daily lives as well as in the workplace. In the framework of our graduation thesis, we have presented stress as a response that a person experiences when faced with changes that occur in the environment in which he or she works. It can have positive or negative effects on the individual, but it is important that each person makes sure that the latter are expressed as little as possible. Each individual reacts differently to different situations, but in most cases the symptoms of stress are similar. Symptoms can develop into consequences over time, affecting both the health of the individual and the performance and relationships within the organisation in which the person works. Stress can originate from both the external environment and the internal environment of the company, so it is important to recognise where the problem is and then deal with it in the right way. In this thesis we describe different individual stress management techniques as well as organisational stress management techniques that contribute to a large extent to reducing stress levels and consequently to better well-being and increased productivity. In the second part of the diploma thesis, we also tested the data obtained in the theoretical part in a selected company. With the information we gathered in the first part of the thesis, we were able to determine the stress levels of the employees in the surveyed company in the empirical part of the project.
