diplomsko delo univerzitetnega študija Organizacija in management kadrovskih in izobraževalnih sistemov
Abstract

SEEKING EMPLOYMENT THROUGH JOB SITES |
Secondary abstract: |
Nowadays it is practically impossible to avoid ICT (information and communications technology). We can hardly imagine life without computer, even less without the internet. All classical procedures of communication have changed to electronic ones. And consequently, the ways of job-searching have changed particularly, the ways of searching for collaborators and the modes of communication between job-seekers and employers. That's why, electronic recruitment is becoming more and more the norm.
This paper has two parts, theoretical and empirical. In the first part we deal in detail with what electronic recruitment is - what it's advantages and disadvantages are. We look at the methods for finding job that are available to job-seekers and we get an insight into the process of job-seeking through "Jobs online" portals.
In the empirical part we determined, how frequently the biggest Slovenian portal for job-seeking MojeDelo.com is visited, who the visitors are according to gender, age, education and region. At the end, we compared this data with the data of the labor market, acquired at the Public Employment Service of Republic of Slovenia. We stated, that the number of male and female users of MojeDelo.com portal is fairly equal, that most of them fall into the age between 30 and 39 years, that the majority of them have higher education and that almost half of them belong to the private sector. The research showed a regional correlation in the number of registered users of the MojeDelo.com portal and the registered job-seekers at the Public Employment Service of Republic of Slovenia. A higher number of registered job-seekers in a certain region positively correlated to a higher number of registered users at MojeDelo.com. |
