Abstract

V diplomskem delu so predstavljeni materiali z magnetokaloričnimi lastnostmi ter njihova uporaba. V začetnem delu diplomske naloge je na kratko opisana zgodovina takšne tehnologije. V nadaljevanju so predstavljeni osnovni zakoni, ki so potrebni za delovanje magnetokaloričnega efekta. Podrobneje je opisan magnetokalorični efekt, kaj je za njega značilno ter kakšna je njegova uporaba. Podrobneje so opisani magnetokalorični materiali ter njihova funkcija. Opisano je tudi toplotno črpanje z uporabo magnetokaloričnega efekta. Naštete so prednosti in slabosti magnetnega hlajenja, toplotnega črpanja z uporabo magnetokaloričnega efekta ter magnetokaloričnih materialov. Opisano je tudi trenutno svetovno stanje hladilne industrije ter magnetnega hlajenja, kaj so pričakovanja za tovrstno tehnologijo in morebitne izboljšave.

Secondary title: Materials with magnetocaloric properties and their use
Secondary abstract: In the diploma thesis, materials with magnetocaloric properties and their use are presented. In the initial part of the thesis, the history of such technology is briefly described. Furthermore, the basic magnetic laws which are necessary for the functioning of the magnetocaloric effect are presented. The magnetocaloric effect is described in more detail as well as its characteristics and use. Magnetocaloric materials and their function are described in more detail. Heat pumping using the magnetocaloric effect is also described. The advantages and disadvantages of magnetic cooling, heat pumping using the magnetocaloric effect, and magnetic materials are also listed. Finally, the current global state of the refrigeration industry and magnetic refrigeration is described, along with the expectations and possible improvements for this technology.
