Abstract

Poudarek specialističnega dela je na osamljenosti v starosti, kar je najpogostejše negativno čustvo pri starostniku. Predstavili smo pomembnost zagotavljanja materialnih in nematerialnih potreb v starosti, skrbi za medgeneracijska sožitja, spremljanje starostnika v domačem okolju in vključevanje starostnika v domu starejših občanov. Vse to pripomore k preprečevanju osamljenosti starostnika. Z raziskavo smo želeli ugotoviti, katero bivalno okolje bolj vpliva na osamljenost starostnika, vzroke za osamljenost in morebiten vpliv spola na osamljenost. Raziskava je zajemala 60 starostnikov, starih nad 65 let, in sicer 30 naključno izbranih starostnikov, živečih na svojih domovih, in 30 starostnikov živečih v domu za starejše.

Secondary title: Elderly and loneliness
Secondary abstract: An emphasis was made on loneliness in seniority, which happens to be the most common feeling at seniors. An importance of facilitating the material and non-material needs was shown, together with monitoring the senior within domestic and involving institutionalised environment. All elements together are preventive with the senior's loneliness. With the research, our goal was to determine the habitual environment, where the loneliness was stressed out prominently, define the reasons for loneliness and eventual effects of gender. The research covered 60 seniors above 65 years of age, 30 of them randomly selected from their homes and 30 of them from The Retirement Facility. Findings of the research are: two thirds of covered institutionalised seniors actually cope with loneliness and approximately half of those from their homes.
