Abstract

Zadnja desetletja, v katerih živimo, predstavljajo višjo stopnjo onesnaženosti in posledično poslabšanje javnega zdravja. To je predvsem posledica večje uporabe fosilnih goriv. V skladu s tem si EU, s sprejetjem različnih akcijskih načrtov in strategij, želi doseči cilje Pariškega sporazuma in narediti prehod v podnebno nevtralno gospodarstvo. Biomasa predstavlja velik in nepogrešljiv del energetskih razprav glede obnovljivih virov energije. Je čista energija, z obilico virov in je okolju prijazna. Izdelali smo pregled obstoječih projektov uplinjanja lesne biomase v EU ter primerjali njihove instalirane moči. Obrati so manjših velikosti in so v območju do 20 MW.

Secondary title: Process systems for wood biomass gasification for biomethane production
Secondary abstract: The last decades in which we live represent a higher level of pollution and the consequent deterioration of public health. This is mainly due to the increased use of fossil fuels. Accordingly, by adopting various action plans and strategies, the EU wants to achieve the goals of the Paris Agreement and make the transition to a climate-neutral economy. Biomass represents a large and indispensable part of the energy debate regarding renewable energy sources. It is clean energy, abundant in resources and environmentally friendly. We made an overview of the existing wood biomass gasification projects in the EU and compared their installed capacities. The plants are smaller in size and are in the range of up to 20 MW. Based on a review of the literature, we found that the most perspective technology for achieving high purity gas is an entrained flow gasifier, with oxygen as a gasification agent. The produced gas contains solid particles which are removed by a moving bed filter, sulphur compounds which are removed by mixed metal oxides as adsorption material. Due to the high-temperature operation, there are few organic impurities and they are removed on the fly. The analysis of gasification for the purpose of biomethane production showed that wood biomass residues are most often used as a source of wood biomass.
