Abstract

Secondary title: Dispute resolution in blockchain based shared manufacturing
Secondary abstract: Shared manufacturing is a concept that allows individuals, as well as smaller and larger business units, to collaborate in production activities through a peer-to-peer network. The use of blockchain technologies in this context makes it possible to increase the simplicity and security of cooperation between production participants, as blockchain networks can provide reliable, secure and efficient solutions in a distributed, decentralized and encrypted manner. The work of this master thesis presents an upgrade of the so far known concept of blockchain-based shared manufacturing, in terms of dispute resolution. The proposed solution uses smart contracts, which allow the creation of contracts, payment for services and dispute resolution without the use of intermediaries. In terms of dispute resolution, the proposed solution allows users to have multiple exits from a contract before and after a dispute arises. Resolution is achieved through payment escrow, additional negotiation and arbitration. Ethereum and Optimism networks were used to implement the solution. By analyzing the consumption of characteristic dispute scenarios, the results show that the Optimism network represents an excellent solution to reduce costs and increase the speed of transaction confirmation.
