Secondary title: | Animating faces on paintings in mixed reality |
Secondary abstract: | Mixed reality (shorter MR) is one of the technologies that is gaining market traction in recent years. In this thesis, we are introduced to MR application development. We take a look at technologies and standards for developing such applications. The final goal of this thesis is to develop an application for displaying painting animations in MR which could be used as a tool for digital exhibitions. We accomplish that by virtually positioning a recording of the animation over the painting, which is located using features detection. Based on the collected user experiences we tailor the animation process to make the animation more convincing. For a better understanding of changes made to the prototype, we take a look at the method used to animate the paintings. The developed application allows for new ways of artistic expression by hanging digital artworks. |
