Abstract

Mešana resničnost (krajše MR) je ena izmed tehnologij, v katero se je v zadnjih letih usmerilo veliko trga. V diplomskem delu se spoznamo z razvojem aplikacije v MR. Ogledamo si tehnologije in standarde za razvoj takšni aplikacij. Končni cilj diplomskega dela je razviti aplikacijo za prikaz animacij slikarskih del v MR, ki bi služila kot pripomoček za digitalne razstave. To dosežemo z virtualnim izobešanjem posnetka animacije preko slikarskega dela, zato v ta namen MR pridružimo določanje lokacije obstoječih slikarskih del z zaznavanjem značilnic. Na podlagi zbranih uporabniških izkušenj aplikacije nato s spreminjanjem postopka animacije izpilimo omenjeni proces, da postane čim bolj prepričljiv. Za boljše razumevanje narejenih sprememb na prototipu si podrobneje ogledamo tudi uporabljeno metodo za animacijo slikarskega dela. Razvita aplikacija odpira nove načine umetniškega izražanja z izobešanjem digitalnih del v fizični galeriji.

Secondary title: Animating faces on paintings in mixed reality
Secondary abstract: Mixed reality (shorter MR) is one of the technologies that is gaining market traction in recent years. In this thesis, we are introduced to MR application development. We take a look at technologies and standards for developing such applications. The final goal of this thesis is to develop an application for displaying painting animations in MR which could be used as a tool for digital exhibitions. We accomplish that by virtually positioning a recording of the animation over the painting, which is located using features detection. Based on the collected user experiences we tailor the animation process to make the animation more convincing. For a better understanding of changes made to the prototype, we take a look at the method used to animate the paintings. The developed application allows for new ways of artistic expression by hanging digital artworks.
