Secondary abstract: | The aim of my work was to optimize an already known synthetic route of pyrithiones with trifluoromethyl group and to prepare their coordination compounds with zinc. Four different pyrithione analogues with different positions of the trifluoromethyl group on the aromatic ring were synthesized and later used as ligands for the preparation of zinc complexes. The synthesized pyrithiones and their zinc complexes were characterized by nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), UV-Vis and IR spectroscopy. The pyrithiones were also characterized by mass spectrometry. |
