Abstract

Secondary title: Robotization of transport in individual production
Secondary abstract: One of the processes in manufacturing is the intralogistics transport of materials, which is crucial for the supply of machinery. However, as modern industry moves towards automation and digital transformation, more and more companies are choosing to introduce autonomous guided vehicles (AGVs) into the intralogistics process. This thesis presents a study to examine the possibility of using AGVs in the machine tool supply process in an individual production environment. Using simulation in a model representing a real industrial example, the performance of different numbers of AGVs was tested and the actual optimum number of AGVs required to operate in the chosen environment was determined. The cost comparison method was used to compare the costs between the company's current method of transport and the method of AGV deployment. The results show that for an individual production environment, the number of AGVs does not follow a simple rule of thumb, but depends on the specifications of the environment. When using the cost comparison method, the result is positive, as the use of AGVs in relation to the current method of transport is worthwhile as it pays for itself in the time required by the company.
