Abstract

Secondary title: Dietary habits of young people during the COVID-19 epidemic
Secondary abstract: The world has been facing a coronavirus epidemic for 2 years. The measures taken by governments are shaping our lives and changing our eating and shopping habits. Studies around the world have noted that the epidemic is affecting our shopping habits in the way that we plan our shopping more carefully and stockpile larger quantities of food at home. In my research, I found through interviews that the shopping and eating habits of female students and other members of their households have also changed. They limited their household visits to only one family member, and they visited shops less frequently than before the epidemic. Female students had a higher quality diet during the epidemic. However, the division of labour in households has not changed, as in the rural area where the interviewees come from, the mother takes care of household chores, which has remained the case during the coronavirus outbreak. During the epidemic, the students had more free time than before, which they spent walking in nature and taking up new hobbies.
