Abstract

Uvod: Izgorelost je kronično stanje psihofizične in čustvene izčrpanosti.

Secondary title: Nurses burnout syndrome during the covid-19 pandemic
Secondary abstract: Introduction: Burnout is a chronic state of psychophysical and emotional exhaustion. The Covid-19 pandemic has put pressure on healthcare systems and workers around the world. Such pressures can affect working conditions and psychological well-being. During this period, nurses began to deal more often with burnout syndrome. Purpose: The purpose of the thesis is to examine how the burnout syndrome affected nurses during the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods: We used a descriptive method of work. We searched the CINAHL, Medine, PubMed, Science Direct, and dLib databases for literature using keywords related to nurse burnout and nursing during a pandemic. Results: The COVID-19 pandemic brought difficult working conditions and many new stressors that nurses were and are still facing today. Findings show that nurses carry a high burden of burnout, anxiety and depression. The health and well-being of nurses directly affects the performance of nursing care. Nurses who are burned out have a harder time providing quality health care, errors and ethical dilemmas occur. Discussion and conclusion: Burnout syndrome is seen among nurses, at all stages of their career. The incidence of burnout has increased in recent years. Stress and burnout syndrome have been and will always be factors in our lives, so its important to know how to recognize and treat them.
