Abstract

V raziskovalnem delu smo preverili, kako dobro so se spoprijela s to krizo IT podjetja v Sloveniji.

Secondary title: Security of IT systems during the transition to teleworking in the COVID-19 era
Secondary abstract: The rapid progress and development of information technologies and the digitalization of modern life have not only brought us access to large amounts of data and simplified our daily lives, but also new dangers that can put us at risk. Cyber threats, which were considered a rarity at the beginning of the information age, have become a part of our everyday life with the development and wider availability of technologies. Attackers are increasingly looking for new opportunities to exploit to their advantage. One of them was the COVID-19 epidemic. The global epidemic brought all life to a standstill and companies started with teleworking overnight. This was a major problem, as many companies had not practiced teleworking until then. Many questions arose about how to protect company IT systems and data and how to secure homeworking devices. In this research, we examined how well IT companies in Slovenia coped with this crisis. We found that companies had prepared well for the transition to teleworking, and used different types of protection mechanisms to ensure security and prevent attacks. The companies also carried out various trainings on safe working and provided employees with guidelines on how to work safely. However, companies will need to continue to upgrade both the mechanisms and the knowledge of their employees as cyber-attacks will increase in the future.
