Abstract

Secondary title: Analysis of the influence of sheet metal shape on distance measurment using the eddy current sensors
Secondary abstract: This thesis includes the analysis of the possibility of using eddy current sensors to detect different shapes and sizes of sheet metal at different distances within the measuring range of the sensor in a sheet metal bending application. In the first part of the thesis, the theoretical background of the operation of eddy current sensors and their requirements was discussed. We have also covered the basics of bending process for better understanding. In the following, we presented the production of samples of various shapes and sizes, as well as all the tools and accessories necessary for this. A prototype of the measuring system was made, which enables easy exchange of mounted samples and sensors as well as distance measuring. The standard software tool of the measuring equipment manufacturer was used to display the measurements. In the last part, we focused on the analysis of the results of experimental measurements and checked the linearity and repeatability of the measurement system for an individual sensor based on different sheet metal shapes. We compared the results with the baseline characteristics and determined new ones for each sensor. Finally we gave an assessment of the quality of use.
