magistrsko delo
Abstract
Namen magistrskega dela je raziskati spanje in splošno počutje slovenskih študentov v povezavi z uporabo zaslonskih naprav in z Zoom izčrpanostjo v obdobju druge uradno razglašene epidemije COVID-19 v Sloveniji.

Sleep and general well-being among university students during COVID-19 epidemic in association to the use of screen devices and Zoom fatigue |
Secondary abstract: |
During the period of the COVID-19 epidemic, many people have reported sleep-related problems, and there has also been an increase in the use of screen devices. The purpose of the master's thesis was to investigate the sleep and general well-being of Slovenian students in connection with the use of screen devices and Zoom exhaustion during the period of the second officially declared epidemic of COVID-19 in Slovenia. The final sample included 719 students (80.7 % female, 19.1 % male, 0.3 % unspecified, with an average age of 22.2 years and a range from 18 to 29 years). These students completed a battery of questionnaires remotely, consisting of the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Questionnaire (PSQI), the Depression, Anxiety, and Stress Scale (DASS-21), and the Zoom Exhaustion and Fatigue Scale (ZEF). In addition to the above, questions related to health and other sleep parameters were also included. The key findings are that the use of screen devices during the day and before bedtime is significantly associated with sleep parameters, including sleep quality, bedtime, sleep latency and daytime inefficiency, and is also associated with feelings of anxiety, depression, stress and Zoom exhaustion. Students are generally a vulnerable group for sleep problems, and because the use of screen devices remains an important part of everyday life, even after the epidemic subsided, the master's thesis dealt with highlighting the importance of raising awareness among students about healthy sleep and the appropriate use of screen devices, and presented some ideas for further research in this area. |
