Abstract

Poimenovanje literarnega žanra, ki mu danes rečemo znanstvena fantastika, se kaže ob podrobnejši obravnavi problema izjemno problematično, saj je termin veliko mlajši kot besedila, ki jih danes z njim označujemo. Angleška ustreznica (science fiction) je sicer nastala leta 1926, toda slovenska literarna kritika in literarna zgodovina sta jo odkrili relativno pozno. Še počasnejši je bil proces iskanja ustreznega slovenskega termina.

Secondary abstract: The name of the literary genre that we call znanstvena fantastika in Slovene (science fiction) today turns out to be exceptionally problematical when we undertake a more detailed analysis of it. This is because the term is much younger than the texts it labels. The English term "science fiction" first appeared in 1926; the genre was discovered by Slovene literary criticism relatively late. The process of finding a corresponding Slovene term was even slower.
