Abstract

Z diplomskim delom smo raziskovali napredek otrok v razvoju pojmovanja osebne higiene. V ta namen smo načrtovali tedenske dejavnosti, v katere je bilo vključenih 16 otrok, starih 3 do 4 leta. Z aktivnimi načini dela, kot so izvedba eksperimentov, uporaba modela, ogled fotografij in uporaba konkretnih pripomočkov, smo otrokom predstavili osebno higieno, higieno rok, higieno zob in mikrobe. Pred izvedbo tedenskih dejavnosti smo z otroki izvedli tudi individualne intervjuje o obravnavani vsebini. Intervjuje z istimi vprašanji smo ponovili tudi po izvedbi dejavnosti. Tako smo preverili napredek otrok pri razumevanju pojma čistoče, poznavanju mikrobov, pomenu umivanja rok z milom in toplo vodo, poznavanju pripomočkov za osebno higieno in pomenu umivanja zob z zobno kremo. Ugotovili smo, da so otroci ob tedenskih dejavnostih napredovali v razumevanju osebne higiene. Največji napredek je viden pri poznavanju mikrobov in pripomočkov za osebno higieno. Pri razumevanju pomena uporabe zobne kreme pa napredka v odgovorih otrok še nismo zaznali.

Secondary title: Development of childrenʼs conception of personal hygiene
Secondary abstract: My diploma thesis was focused on children's progress in terms of their conception of personal hygiene. We planned weekly activities that involved sixteen children aged three to four. Using active working methods involving experiments, models, photographs, and concrete tools we taught the children about personal hygiene, hand washing, oral hygiene, and microbes. Before the weekly activities, we conducted individual interviews with the children about the planned themes. We repeated the interviews with the same questions after the activities had been completed. This allowed us to monitor the children's progress in terms of their understanding of hygiene, microbes, the importance of hand washing using soap and warm water, knowledge of personal hygiene products, and the importance of using toothpaste when brushing your teeth. We found out that our weekly activities improved the children's conception of personal hygiene. The most substantial progress was observed in the children's knowledge of microbes and personal hygiene products. The children's understanding of the importance of toothpaste, however, didn't show any progress.
