Abstract

V diplomskem delu sem raziskala medij plakata, ki je produkt grafičnega oblikovanja oz. oblikovanja vizualnih komunikacij in hkrati predstavila avtorski praktični del, ki zajema oblikovanje plakatov na podlagi družbeno angažirane tematike. Diplomsko delo Družbeno angažiran plakat sem razdelila na teoretični in praktični del. V prvem, torej teoretičnem delu, sem opisala področje, v katerega plakat spada, torej grafično oblikovanje, ter širše razložila lastnosti vizualnih komunikacij. Želja po podrobni analizi tega medija me je pripeljala do podrobne likovno-teoretične analize ter raziskovanja njegove pozicije v današnji družbi. Za analizo te pozicije so ključni temelji, na katerih je nastal, zato sem plakat kronološko analizirala ter opisala njegov zgodovinski razvoj od antike do postmodernizma. V nadaljevanju sem se lotila obravnave osrednje teme - torej družbeno angažiranega oblikovanja. Preden sem se poglobila v to temo, sem opisala pomen oblikovanja kot sredstva komuniciranja, vloge, ki jo pri tem igra oblikovalec (njegov vpliv ter možnosti izražanja družbene odgovornosti). V osrednji temi sem razložila pomen in lastnosti družbeno angažiranega oblikovanja ter analizirala manifest First Things First. V zadnjem delu teoretičnega dela sem kronološko in tematsko analizirala izbrane družbeno angažirane plakate. V praktičnemu delu diplomskega dela sem oblikovala lastne plakate z družbeno angažirano tematiko. V začetku sem predstavila način dela in metode, s katerimi sem se lotila oblikovanja - opisala sem natečaje, njihovo vsebino in zahteve. Prav tako sem opisala svoj miselni proces dela ter predstavila in analizirala plakate, ki sem jih oblikovala.

Secondary abstract:	In my diploma, I researched the medium of poster, which is the product of graphic design or formulation of visual communication. At the same time I also presented the practical part that captures the formulation of posters based on socially engaging topics. My diploma is comprised of a theoretical and a practical part. In former I described the branch to which poster belongs - graphic design and I clarified the characteristics of visual communication in a wider scope. My wish to look at this medium in detail led me to a detailed artistically - theoretical analysis and research of its position in today's society. The foundatinos on which the poster is based are key to the anaylsis of this position. This is why I analysed poster chronologically, and described its historical development from antiquity to postmodernism. After that I focused on my main topic: socially engaging design. Before concentrating on this topic, I described the signifance of design as a means of communication and the role designer plays in it (his influence and possibilities of expressing social resposibility). The main topic clarifies the significance and charateristics of socially engaging design. It also contains an analysis of the First Things First manifesto. In the last part of theoretical part I analysed socially engaging posters, chronologically and thematically. In practical part of my diploma work I designed my own posters with socially engaging topics. First I presented the manner of work and methodes, which were applied in my design. I described competitions and briefs - their content and demands. In the end I described mental process of my work and introduced and analized posters designed by me.
