Abstract

29. maja 1919 so ustanovili Mursko republiko pod Vilmošem Tkalcem.

Secondary title: THE ANNEXATION OF PREKMURJE REGION TO KINGDOM OF SCS FROM SELECTED NEWSPAPERS POINT OF VIEW
Secondary abstract: Prekmurje was part of the Hungary monarchy during the Austro-Hungarian authority. Slovenes that lived in Prekmurje had very peaceful life before the beginings of the 20th century. In that time Hungary started its process of hungarization over people. The aim was to rob the people of Prekmurje of their own national consciousness. But the effect of this process was just the opposite. Clergy helped people to resist from hungarization. Among these priests we need to mention Franc Ivanocy and later his disciple Jožef Klekl sen. In particular, the latter, after the death of Ivanocy, he successfully enhanced awareness among people. Words from Mohor's books and newspaper Novine provided great help when talking to people. After the First World War the desire to annex with Kingdom of SCS was growing stronger and stronger. It was during that time that Prekmurje region was taken under the bolshevism, which was spreading all over Hungary. This period proved to be the toughest for Prekmurje. There has also been established the Mura republic under the leadership of Vilmoš Tkalec in May 1919. After the brief existence of the republic the bolshevist authority continued until the annexation to Kingdom of SCS which occurred on 12th August 1919 by order on Paris Peace Conference. It's largely owing to Matija Slavič that Prekmurje annexed to Kingdom of SCS. The administration started immediately to restore and Prekmurje slowly became the part of Kingdom.
