Abstract

Secondary title: A comparative analysis of the ethical guidelines in netnography and their practical uses
Secondary abstract: Ethics in netnography have been a subject of debate since the method’s conception. The problem of ethical approach to online research, especially netnography, is a layered one and the guidelines proposed by various institutions and schools of thought have not yet reached a consensus. In order to answer the core questions of ethics in netnography, it is important to understand in great detail the issues which prevent the researchers from reaching the consensus. This study explores the problems of ethics in netnography and it presents areas in need of further research as a foundation of the future debate on the issue.
