Abstract

Uvod: Izraz hernija ali kila pomeni izstopanje in/ali izbočenje dela normalne vsebine neke telesne votline skozi nenormalno odprtino v njeni steni.

Secondary title: Health care for a patient after hernioplasty surgery
Secondary abstract: Introduction: The term hernia refers to the protrusion and/or protrusion of part of the normal contents of a body cavity through an abnormal opening in its wall. Abdominal hernias are protrusions of the peritoneum through an opening in the abdominal wall. Hernia is felt when a part of the abdominal organs protrudes into the hernia sac. The aim of the diploma is to describe the nursing care of the patient after hernioplasty and to investigate the nurse's role after surgery. Methods: We used a quantitative research method. Data for the analysis were collected using a written questionnaire. We used non-random sampling. Only subjects who underwent hernioplasty at least 2 to at most 5 days after surgery participated in the study (n=50). Data were analyzed using the descriptive method of work. Results: The results of the analysis showed us that the nurse plays an important role in pain reduction after hernioplasty. The greatest impact is seen in nursing procedures for pain relief, providing a suitable environment for peaceful sleep and treating pain with painkillers. The impact is slightly less pronounced when learning behavior during actions that cause pain and positions to reduce it. Discussion and conclusion: We found that the nurse has a great influence on the patient before the hernioplasty operation, as she prepares and teaches him about the period after the operation, the pain, as well as the return to the home environment. We also found that with better involvement of nurses before surgery, non-pharmacological measures to reduce pain could be improved.
