diplomsko delo
Mitja Milošič (Author), Darko Friš (Mentor)

Abstract

Secondary abstract: During World War II, the Hungarian state was under a great influence of the Nazi Germany. Hungary was as a satellite state which tried to remain its autonomy and independence. However, it failed. Due to an unfortunate turn of events and the indecisiveness of the Hungarian political leadership, the Germans could realize their objectives in Hungary, i.e. complete control of the state. The goal of this paper is to demonstrate that Hungary was a German satellite state, even though the political leadership in Hungary tried to resist. Nationalism, which was almost as powerful in Hungary as it was in Germany, had an enormous influence on the Hungarian domestic policy, economy and also on the lives of the Hungarian Jews, who were exposed to discrimination and holocaust. The Hungarian military was quite active during World War II. It took action in the April War and later against the Soviet Union.
