diplomsko delo visokošolskega študijskega programa Informacijska varnost
Abstract
Teoretični del zaključnega dela zajema predstavitev trenutno najbolj priljubljenih oziroma aktualnih metod zaklepanja pametnih telefonov.

Comparison of smartphone locking methods |
Secondary abstract: |
The theoretical part of the thesis covers the presentation of the current smartphone locking methods. The modus operandi for each of the methods is shown, while at the same time the both advantages and disadvantages are also presented along with the possibilities for their development in the near future.
Due to increasingly better performance of the smartphones in the last decade, the usage of smartphones also drastically increased. For a long time now, our phones no longer serve us only for phone calls and text messages, but are used for many other tasks such as data storage, photo capturing, browsing the internet, confirming online payments and many others. Precisely because of this, there is increasing desire, and necessity for users to adequately protect all data stored on their devices. In addition to already existing standard locking methods such as patterns and passwords, the implementation of biometric locking methods in smartphones has greatly contributed to the feeling of security and safety. It is a technology that allows the users to verify their identity with the use of unique human features such as fingerprints, face features, iris and others. Due to the ease of use and the level of security offered by biometric locking methods, they quickly became popular among smartphone users and thus became a standard in the field of mobile device protection.
The empirical part presents the results of a survey, the aim of which was to find out which methods are the most popular among smartphone users in the Republic of Slovenia, and what was the reasoning for choosing that particular method. |
