Abstract

Mnoge države regulirajo področje diskriminacije in poskušajo na mnoge načine usmeriti družbo v enakovredno obravnavanje LGBTQ+ oseb in ostalih marginalnih skupin.

Secondary title: Violence against LGBTQ+ people
Secondary abstract: Violence takes place on a daily basis at various levels in society. It is most often committed against marginalized parts of society, which include LGBTQ + people, and violent acts take place on both a gross physical and unconscious level, which includes acts of micro-aggression. This, through the verbal expression of individuals who accept heteronormativity as the only acceptableaffects LGBTQ + members and pushes them to the margins of society or perpetuates their position there. The consequences of violence can have an effect on LGBTQ + people for the rest of their lives, making it impossible for them to be integrated into society at large in an acceptable and respectful way. This in turn pushes LGBTQ + people to try to raise respect for LGBTQ + groups. The state can regulate the field of discrimination or it tries to direct society towards equal treatment, though it is not always so. The Republic of Slovenia is guided by the directives of the European Union in dealing with LGBTQ+ issues and is lagging behindthe most advanced countries that have established policies in this area.
