Abstract

Starši so športno aktivni zaradi boljšega počutja.

Secondary title: PARENTS' INFLUENCE ON THE MOTORIC DEVELOPMENT OF THE CHILDREN FROM THE ŠENTJUR KINDERGARTEN
Secondary abstract: The title of my diploma is Parent's Influence on the Motoric Development of the Children from the Šentjur Kindergarten. It is assembled of the theoretical and empirical part. In the theoretical part motoric development of the child, the importance of sports activities for the development, the role of parents for the motoric development were presented. We also presented organized motoric/sports activities for the preschool children in Šentjur. In the empirical part of diploma the findings of the survey which were collected with the survey questionnaire were presented. We interwieved parents of the children aged from four to six. 197 parents from all the units of the Šentjur kindergarten participated in the survey. The intention of the survey was to find out the parents' influence and their role for the motoric development of the preschool child according to their gender, age, education and place of residence. When processing data the following was discovered: lack of time disables parents to be more sports active with their children. Most of the parents are aware that motoric/sports activity helps towards faster development in other areas. Despite this, surprisingly, most of the children are not included in organized sports activities eventhough the Šentjur kindergarten and other organizers enable them. Most of the children included in organized sports activities are from rural area. Parents are sports active because of their well being. Children of parents who are more sports active are not more sports active than children of parents who are not sports active. Mothers are more often sports active with their children than fathers. This data is not reliable because fathers represent only 16,8 % of all interwieved. The most common sports activity of parents and children is playing with a ball. Sports activities of parents and children do not depend on the education of parents.
