Abstract

V slovenskem sistemu vzgoje in izobraževanja je opaziti trend naraščanja priljubljenosti gimnazij in vedno večjo nepriljubljenost poklicnih srednjih šol. Opisana neskladja v vzgojno-izobraževalnem sistemu so v večji meri posledica zagotavljanja tekmovalnosti in konkurenčnosti gospodarstva.

Secondary title: SOME ASPECTS OF PRIMARY SCHOOL TEACHERS BUSINESS AWARENESS WITHIN THEIR WORK IN THE CLASSROOM
Secondary abstract: The Slovenian education system has an increasing trend of gymnasium popularity and vocational secondary school unpopularity. The pupils` choice to enter a general gymnasium mainly derives from the desire to continue education on a university. But the once considered norm "study in order to get a good job", today poses a paradox. The graduates namely face an increasing difficulty in finding their first employment, since there are too many of them. At the same time the work force with the fifth or lower level of education is far more sought after than the work force with the level of education gained after the degree. The experts believe capitalism and neoliberal model of education are to be blamed for this situation, which has reached Slovenia as well. The stated contradictions in educational system are substantially the effect of assuring rivalry and competition in the economy. Although primary school teacher are public sector employees, they have enough autonomy to give pupils vocational guidance, to overlook the trend of globalization and critically apply it to their work with pupils. Only this gives them the opportunity to significantly influence their educational, professional, and last but not least, their existential future.
