Abstract

Namen magistrskega dela je raziskati IKT kompetentnost učiteljev, ki kot predmetni ali razredni učitelji poučujejo tuji jezik v vseh treh vzgojno-izobraževalnih obdobjih osnovne šole. V teoretičnem delu magistrskega dela smo sprva predstavili informacijsko-komunikacijsko tehnologijo v izobraževanju. Za tem smo se osredotočili na IKT v poučevanju in učenju tujega jezika na razredni stopnji in teorijo zaključili s poglavjem IKT kompetenc učiteljev za poučevanje tujega jezika na razredni stopnji. V empiričnem delu magistrskega dela smo s pomočjo spletnega anketnega vprašalnika zbrali podatke na vzorcu 102 učiteljev tujih jezikov, ki tuji jezik v osnovni šoli poučujejo kot predmetni ali razredni učitelji z opravljenim dodatnim izobraževanjem za poučevanje tujega jezika na razredni stopnji. Zanimalo nas je, v kolikšni meri so kompetentni za uporabo IKT pri pouku tujega jezika predmetni učitelji v primerjavi z razrednimi. Rezultati raziskave kažejo, da med učitelji tujih jezikov ni statistično značilnih razlik v IKT-kompetentnosti pri poučevanju TJ. Razlike se pojavljajo predvsem pri tistih učiteljih tujih jezikov, ki svoje IKT-kompetentnost ocenjujejo višje oz. boljše, kar pomeni, da pri pouku tujega jezika bolj pogosto uporabljajo IKT. Ugotovili smo tudi, da se pojavljajo statistično značilne razlike pri pogostosti uporabe IKT glede na leta poučevanja ter glede na število izobraževanj povezanih z IKT.

Secondary title: ICT competencies of primary school foreign language teachers
Secondary abstract: The purpose of the master's thesis is to research the ICT competence of teachers who, as subject or primary-school teachers, teach a foreign language in all three educational periods of elementary school. In the theoretical part of the master's thesis, we initially presented information and communication technology in education. After that, we focused on ICT in teaching and learning a foreign language at the classroom level. We concluded the theory with a chapter on the ICT competencies of teachers for teaching a foreign language at the primary-school level. In the empirical part of the master's thesis, we collected data, utilizing an online survey questionnaire, on a sample of 102 foreign language teachers who teach a foreign language in primary school as a subject or are primary-school teachers and have completed additional education for teaching a foreign language at the classroom level. We were interested in what extent subject teachers are competent in the use of ICT in foreign language lessons compared to primary-school teachers. The results of the research show that there are no statistically significant differences in ICT competence in teaching a foreign language among foreign language teachers. Differences appear mostly among those teachers of foreign languages who rate their ICT competence higher or better, which means that they use ICT more often in foreign language lessons. We also ascertained that there are statistically significant differences in the frequency of ICT use according to years of teaching and according to the number of ICT-related educations.
