Abstract

V diplomskem delu je predstavljena kratka kulturna zgodovina Šaleške doline. Predstavljen je geografsko-zgodovinski oris Šaleške doline in njenega obrobja. Opisane so arheološke izkopanine, gradovi in sakralna kulturna dediščina, prav tako spomeniki in skulpture. Za Šaleško dolino so pomembni tudi muzeji, predvsem Muzej premogovništva Slovenije in Muzej usnjarstva na Slovenskem, Glasbena šola Fran Korun Koželjski Velenje, časopisi in drugi mediji. Opisane so naravne znamenitosti in predstavljene pomembnejše osebnosti Šaleške doline. V diplomskem delu je uporabljena deskriptivna raziskovalna metoda, pri osebah in zgodovinskih dejstvih pa zgodovinska metoda.

Secondary abstract:	A brief cultural history of Šalek valley is presented in this graduation thesis along with the geographical and historical outline of Šalek valley and its periphery. It also describes archaeological excavations, castles and religious cultural heritage, as well as monuments and sculptures. Museums, especially the Coal Mining Museum of Slovenia and The Museum of Leather Industry in Slovenia, Fran Korun Koželjski Music School Velenje, newspapers and other media are of big importance for Šalek valley. Natural sights of Šalek valley and its personalities of significance are presented in graduation thesis as well. A descriptive research method is used throughout the graduation thesis while a historical method is used when writing about people and historical facts.
