Abstract

V diplomski nalogi sem ugotavljala, v kolikšni meri je v izbrani ekspresionistični literaturi prisotna tema novega človeka in kakšne usode so le-temu izkazane.

Secondary title: THE THEME OF THE NEW HUMAN IN SELECTED WORKS OF SLOVENE EXPRESSIONISTIC LITERATURE
Secondary abstract: In my diploma I established in which extent the theme of the new human is present in the selected expressionistic literature, and which faith he undergoes. The theme of the new human is one of the most visible themes in expressionistic literature, it derives in first place from the general disappointment, which actually leads to the mentality about the "new kind " of human. Besides the so called human-social basis (for the theme about the new human) we also find philosophical and ideal basis; the latter are linked to the Bible, and are in some way the most important, because they evidently show the importance of the spiritual cleansing. Since the grounds are different, it is not surprising, that the new human does not perform each time the exact same way, so there are more types: there are the ethical renewed, the revolutionary, the mechanical/futuristic, the Nietzsche type and the type of a heroic warrior (it has to be said, that the characteristics of the types are often interrelated). The beginning of such an individual/civilization of the new era with the wish, that the human spiritually renews himself, and the creators saw the basic conditions of the new birth in a total renew of the old. For that one must also die (the idea "death for new growth"). The human called for a universal renew, but sometimes there was no hope for that (because the world is too much ethical opposable, also a born new human cannot survive in it), and with that every hope for a brighter future was stamped down.
