Abstract

Secondary title: Positioning of clitics in spontaneous spoken discourse in the regions of the Vipava Valley and Šentjernej
Secondary abstract: The Slovenian literary language recognises as the neutral word order flexible as well as fixed positions of words, the latter including also the position of clitics within a clause or a clitic order. The norm of the Slovenian literary language being based on the written language while spoken language being a more primary form of communication poses a question whether the clitic position in spoken texts coincides with the clitic position in written texts. This thesis deals with the clitic position used in spontaneous speech of the speakers from the Vipava Valley and Šentjernej. The analysis focuses primarily on the divergence in clitic position between the spontaneous speech and the Slovenian literary language. The theoretical part of the thesis presents the clitic positions in the latter. The aim of the thesis is also to discover if there are any differences in the clitic positioning between the speakers from the Vipava Valley and the speakers from Šentjernej.
