Abstract

Glavni cilj diplomskega dela je odkriti, kakšno je vedenje oz. znanje osnovnošolcev o evoluciji, ali se jim zdijo neznanstvena pojmovanja evolucije ustrezna in katera pojmovanja so to. V raziskavo so bili vključeni učenci osmih in devetih razredov štirih osnovnih šol (dve mestni in dve podeželski) v širši okolici Maribora. S pomočjo anketnega vprašalnika sem pridobila ustrezne podatke in ugotovila, da imajo učenci pomanjkanje znanja na več področjih evolucije in da mnogi učenci sprejemajo neznanstvena pojmovanja. Rezultati moje raziskave so pokazali, da učenci menijo, da biologije ne bi smeli poučevati brez vključevanja evolucije in da bi morali učitelji poučevati več različnih teorij evolucije. Učitelji lahko pripomorejo k temu, da je učenje o znanstvenih razlagah zanimivo, ne da bi se učenci, ki verjamejo v druge razlage o evoluciji, počutili ogrožene. V razredu morajo ustvariti odprto in prijazno vzdušje in povabiti učence, da izrazijo in razpravljajo o različnih idejah. Pomembno je, da učitelj predstavi in podpira znanstveno razlago.

Secondary title: Elementary school pupils' knowledge of evolution
Secondary abstract: The main goal of this diploma is to discover the elementary school pupils' knowledge of evolution, if they find unsientific concept of evolution to be adequate and which are those concepts. Pupils of eighth and ninth grade from four elementary schools (two town schools and two country schools) in Maribor's broader surroundings were included in the research. I gained relevant information through questionnaire survey and discovered pupils' lack of knowledge in different fields of evolution and pupils' acceptance of unsientific concept. Results of my research indicated that pupils think that biology should not be taught without included evolution and that teachers should teach different theories of evolution. Teachers can contribute to the fact that learning of scientific explanations can be interesting without threatening the pupils who believe in other interpretations of evolution. Teachers must create open and friendly atmosphere in the classroom and encourage pupils to express and discuss about different ideas. It is also important for the teacher to illustrate and support scientific explanation.
