Abstract

Namen diplomske naloge je bil raziskati in strniti pridobljene podatke o razlikah in podobnostih, ki se pojavljajo na področju predšolske vzgoje v Sloveniji in Združenem kraljestvu. Poglobili smo se v različne oblike in preostale značilnosti predšolske vzgoje, kot so npr. odstotek vključenosti otrok v vrtec, financiranje, porodniški dopust, odgovorne pristojnosti obeh naštetih držav, še posebej pa so nas zanimali strukturni kazalci. Dodali smo še lastne izkušnje, med nastajanjem naloge pa smo si pomagali še s preučevanjem primarnih in sekundarnih virov. Prišli smo do spoznanja, da se predšolski vzgoji v Sloveniji in Združenem kraljestvu precej razlikujeta, predvsem ko govorimo o vključenosti otrok v vrtec, dostopnosti in oblikah predšolske vzgoje, ki so na voljo v eni in drugi državi.

Secondary title: Comparison of Preschool Education in Slovenia and United Kingdom
Secondary abstract: The aim of the diploma was to research and do a sum up of the obtained information in order to find similarities and differences between Slovenian and the United Kingdom preschool education. We pored over several types and other characteristics of preschool education, such as the number of available places, funding, parental leave, the responsible agencies in both, Slovenia as well as the United Kingdom; but even more attention was paid to the structural indicators. Our own experience were also included and primary and secondary sources were used and examined closely. We came to a conclusion that big differences can be found between Slovenian and the United Kingdom preschool education, especially when comparing the percentage of children who attend nursery school, approaches and types of preschool education that can be found in both countries.
